Measurement Instructions
  • Disable pointer acceleration in your OS for accurate calibration.
  • Use a ruler or printed grid and move in a straight line.
  • Use a stable surface and consistent hand speed.
  • Use at least 5 inches for better confidence.

Pointer acceleration must be disabled for accurate DPI measurement.

How To Interpret Results
  • DPI means counts-per-inch (CPI): how many movement counts your mouse reports per inch.
  • OS acceleration changes effective movement and can invalidate DPI estimation.
  • Browsers cannot access hardware-level raw DPI registers directly.
  • Longer travel distance reduces random error and improves confidence.
